12 months with the Tunze Nanostream 6040 pump
After 12 months with the Tunze Nanostream 6040 pump, here is a feedback to complete the initial test.
We initially discovered on Récifalnews, with an ‘unboxing’ of the Tunze Nanostream 6040. And later, a presentation with an initial test in real situation was made 12 months ago.
Of course, if I still use it, I’m happy with the product! But we may still have good and less good as well as interesting additional details.
All observations made initially are confirmed, but here are some points that I wish to share my experience.
Usage reminder
- I have not changed the settings since the end of the establishment
- I do not use all the possibilities of pump settings, but in the multitude of possibility of pump settings I finely choose the setting suited to my needs. The pump is set to use only a part of the available power.
- I clean the pump about every four weeks with a brushing. Once a quarter, I complete with a soak of about 15 minutes in distilled vinegar before a second brushing.
Usage review
Cleaning is very simple, only the flow deflector is to uncouple before pull out the drive unit. I clean the pump with a toothbrush, in particular among the grooves and out the pump body with a sponge (reserved for the aquarium) with one side slightly scraping (blue color). After cleaning, the pump is like new.
The pump is extremely quiet and no vibration is sent through the glass (a slight vibration was transmitted to the cabinet on my previous pump).
If we inadvertently block the propeller, the pump stops and then restarts automatically well in the 20s.
This is my feedback to help you to make an opinion.
